So Stressed started as a largely improvisational noise band around 2010 in Sacramento, California. They very slowly whittled the group down from a rotating cast of five or so to a simple three-piece ensemble comprised of Kenneth Draper (drum), Morgan Fox (keyboard and voice) and Andrew Garcia (guitar). They then began writing rock and roll songs rather than just flailing and making noise. They released their first EP, Attracted To Open Mouths, through the now defunct Music Ruins Lives label in 2012. They then wrote some more harsh rock and roll songs over a significant period of time and were approached by Meredith Graves and asked if they would like to release these songs on her newly minted, and also now defunct label, Honor Press. They agreed with alacrity. The resulting album was called The Unlawful Trade Of Greco-Roman Art which was released in the summer of2015. At this point, every label that had released any music of theirs had folded shortly after. With flagrant disregard for this fact, Nathan Williams’s label, Ghost Ramp, offered to release a seven-inch album, PC Duster, as well as their second full-length, Please Let Me Know. These were released in December of 2016 and February of 2017, respectively.
Throughout the recording and release of their albums, So Stressed has toured the United States of America by themselves as well as with friends. They have also continued to refine their lineup and as of this moment they are now operating as a two-piece consisting of Kenneth Draper and Morgan Fox. They are regularly joined by friends for recordings and performances.
